Candidate's Log: Second Day of Voting
Voting for the CS/VCS election officially began yesterday, September 1st, and I sincerely hope no one is encountering any issues with casting their ballot. If you’ve got any questions, you need but ask and we’ll make sure to get them addressed.
I just returned from DragonCon but a few hours ago, and I have to say it was a phenomenal experience. The Trek Track was once again a highlight of the event, and I had the privilege of meeting several Star Trek actors, including Robert Picardo (photo attached). What stood out even more, though, were the number of STARFLEET members I bumped into throughout the weekend. Many stopped me to share a kind word or wish me luck, and I left feeling incredibly energized by seeing just how many of us are woven into these fan spaces, even when we don’t always realize it.
As we head into this election, I want to stress the importance of voting. Yes, we are the only candidates in this election. But that doesn’t mean your vote matters any less. In fact, it matters more than ever. STARFLEET is one of the few organizations in fandom that truly empowers its members to vote and shape the direction of its leadership. This election isn’t about “winning by default” as my meme joked about last week. It’s about showing that the membership has confidence in the leadership team and its vision for moving us *Forward, Together*.
Let’s continue to shape STARFLEET’s future together.
