Candidate's Log: Week Ten
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for both Ryan and I – mainly with our roles in the current administration prepping for and supporting the ECAB meeting and IC.
I was delighted to be able to join Ryan as we spoke with RC R17 Laurie McFarland at the Meet The Candidates session at IC. It was the first time we’d actually articulated our plans and hopes for the next three years, and it felt both weird and really good to say it all out loud!!
This past weekend we did a AMA with Region 4 – many thanks to their RC RADM Ron Coleman for inviting us and sorting out the link up. It was great to meet some of R4. We have similar sessions lined up with R1, R15 and R20, and we’d happily chat with all Regions if they want to do so.
At the ECAB meeting, Ryan reminded the members of the AB of an important piece of organisational legislation. If we fail to achieve a majority in the vote of confidence, then the AB must nominate one of their membership to act as CS until a new election is organised.
Both Laurie and Ron strongly emphasised this point when leading their respective sessions. So for the sake of your RCs sanity, please do vote!!
